Vocational Training
Preparing at-risk youth for honest, sustained work greatly lessens the financial allure and likelihood of sex work or exploitation. In our global partnership with Remember Nhu, we provide Vocational Training programs for at-risk youth and students as a form of prevention.
For youth in our programs overseas who are not college-bound, providing a trade is their hope for the future. Vocational Training can be their hope-filled alternative to college. In this special environment, Volunteer Instructors pass on their skills in trades such as sewing, woodworking, jewelry-making, baking or bicycle repair, to our teenagers who have been prevented from exploitation.
We desire each country we work in to have its own center dedicated to teaching skills for young women and young men. Volunteer instructors from the U.S. are needed for passing on English and skills to these young aspiring dreamers.
Our programs consist of teaching English as a second language, life skills and learning the trade of a visiting instructor. Each apprentice helps to keep a vocational training program in that country running smoothly by sharing chores and cooking. We cannot run these centers without the volunteer help of vocational instructors and interns!
