We are dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to recognize, prevent, and combat sex trafficking. Our educational programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives are designed to raise awareness, foster resilience, and build a safer world for everyone. With our tagline, “Not me, not you, not anyone,” we envision a future where no one falls victim to exploitation. LAURA PATERSON
Executive Director
As a third-generation teacher, Laura is naturally driven to care for students and youth. A Gen Safe’s mission resonates deeply with her as both a life calling and what Laura passionately views as an exciting opportunity to bring needed safety awareness and life-changing education to protect this generation from exploitation.
Laura has spent her adult life working in education and classroom environments in public, private, and nonprofit settings. She has been fortunate to teach youth in three different countries and seven different grade levels, and she remains an active educator in the classroom today. Laura’s Undergrad was in Science of Education – Special Education, and she holds a Masters in Educational Leadership in Administration.
Laura currently resides in Altus, Oklahoma with her husband Pat and their “dog sons” Fyn and Henry. She enjoys traveling and hosting friends for dinner or tea, and she “dabbles” in crafting.
